Orange Living Room

600 sq. ft. space

This room was inspired by my Aunt Jeanette, who worked for years as a seamstress and fiber artist, and who has always had an amazing sense of style. Years ago, I visited her at her vacation home in Tuscon and I was blown away by the fearless way she mixed colors -- the bolder and brighter the better.
I enjoyed working with this warm palette and modern furnishings, creating three distinct seating areas for the ultimate entertaining space. Low-lying chairs and sofas allow guests to view the flat screen and fireplace from any vantage point, and windows on three sides let in plenty of natural light.

Happy accident: I was struggling with this color scheme and felt I needed to bring in a complementary green, but discovered the panels of glass create a high-contrast, high-impact view of the exterior trees and plants.
