Japandi Style blends the smooth, modern lines of Scandinavian design with the sleek, functional, elegance of the Japanese aesthetic. It is minimalist yet welcoming, and is all about using neutral tones, lots of textures and natural materials.

My clients have been asking about mural wallpaper, and I realized that I didn't have any sample designs to show them, so the Cherry Blossom with Koi was the inspiration for this room. I love how a design often morphs into something entirely different throughout the process -- I originally planned to use light oak and creamy colors, but this works much better!

Happy accident: I had imagined a modern shag for the space, but found an oriental rug that perfectly adds more pattern without competing with the wallpaper.
